CHINESE FREEZE TAG (I'M IT)
I've been tagged by the other Toni over at Special K Family. Before I post my 10 incredibly interesting and highly enlightening facts or habits about my incredibly interesting self (roll your eyes with me), I want to ask my praying friends to stop for just a moment and lift Toni and her family up in prayer, as well as her dear friend Barbie. Both women are military wives whose husbands are just weeks away from deployment. While I can assure you Toni is made of strong "stuff", it also makes me sad to think of these families separated for so long. Yes, they know it comes with being married to a military man. But let us not forget what comes to us because of their sacrifices, both at home and abroad. So do pray for these specific families (now), please.
Okay, I’ll write 10 facts about me and/or habits of mine.
- I’ll tag 10 people.
- If you’ve been tagged, you do your own list and tag 10 more people. (”No tag backs.”)
- I rode jumpseat in the cockpit of a 737 from Cleveland to Atlanta (which is entirely impossible these days due to massive changes in security procedures.)
- I saved an 11 year old boy from drowning as I witnessed his friend going under. I was only 17 at the time and not a good swimmer myself. Sadly, his friend died.
- My favorite movies? Hmmm. Just Like Heaven and Grease.
- I love The Brady Bunch. All of it. Even the corny Christmas special.
- I attended public schools through the 5th grade, then parochial school through highschool graduation. I have two associate degrees and my RN license. I opted to homeschool my children after carefully considering the pros and cons of public, private and home schooling. I respect that we all have such choices.
- The only tv show I regulary watch is Survivor.
- The dream job I failed to pursue is that of photographer.
- I want people to understand that the face of adoption is a woman in crisis, no matter which route of adoption folks choose to pursue.
- My favorite dog breeds in order are: Labs, Yorkies, and Border Terriers. I also like (but would not own) Chows, Irish Setters, Blood hounds, Basset Hounds, and Rhodesian Ridgebacks, with their reverse hairs along the spine.
- I am truly happy for others' successes but turned off by those who simply put on airs.
AND THE BONUS ITEM (da da da ding): I hope pantyhose never come back in style.
And now I'm "it."

Thanks you! You are gonna make me cry!
Loved your list, you constantly amaze me! Didn't know you watched Survivor too! I LOVE that show! If I didn't have an aversion to wanting food I would apply.
I don't have a blog, but...
1. When I was 23 the FBI came to my front door, and then inside, to interrogate me for an hour.
2. Four months later I was detained and interrogated by the KGB for two hours.
3. I defeated a 1959 world champion at his own sport 15 years after his win. I was in high school at the time.
4. Please don't tell anyone, I put together and submitted an audition video for Survivor. No you can't see it.
5. I was the main story and photo on the front page of the New York Times, and stories were also run in Time, Newsweek, and Sports Illustrated, and of course the Cleveland Plain Dealer. The story had nothing to do with item 3 above.
6. I once lived with a transvestite for 3 weeks, his name was "Susie".
7. At my request Dolly Parton called my house and left a personalized message that I then used for years.
8. I once walked from New York city to Tel Aviv, Israel.
9. I never studied all through high school, but still made passing grades. I regret not having applied myself, but ended up with two very fascinating jobs and can provide for my family. I am very happy.
10. Nobody outside of my family knows my middle name. And like Rumpelstiltskin, no one ever guesses it.
I'll have you ALL know that "anonymous" is my very dear (and very funny) friend, Dan. And if he DID have a blog, I'd send you all rushing over to welcome hime to bloggityville because well, he'd crack you up on any given day. And he's DEAD SERIOUS that he WALKED to Israel. I'm thinking I might need to have him guest write every now and then for me.
Oh, and I was right there beside him when Dolly called his house. How cool was she, Dan?! And I do know what #5 is as well (did you know I knew, Dan?)
~Toni~
Thanks for tagging me Toni! I'll get to it as soon as I'm unpacked! So interesting to read! We're Survivor fans also (but missed this week) we'll have to check it out online to catch ourselves up!
Take care!
