BOOK SUGGESTION

I have out-of-town guests here this weekend, so I'll be out of the bloggy loop for a bit. Just wanted to suggest a really great non-fiction read first. I read this book about 6 months ago and would read it again in a second.

The author, Eric Brende, graduated from MIT and ditched ALL technology to live for 18 months with the Amish. The scene where he helps with the threshing is hysterically funny. And the scene where he talks of what it's like to attend an Amish church was captivating. And it was very interesting to find out how the experience impacted him for the long run.

Now, you WILL need a dictionary handy, because Eric Brende is so highly intellectual that he will most definitely use words you have never heard of and/or will not be able to decipher from context. Still, I could NOT put this book down.

It's called Better Off: Flipping the Switch on Technology by Eric Brende.

Dreams
I have officially been tagged by Leigh over at "Speaking Thru Me." Leigh wants to know - What do we dream about? What do we whisper in God's ear and believe Him for? She wants us to be bold, be honest and be courageous. If you are reading this, consider yourself tagged.

That sounds like such a great read!

I frequently threaten to chuck our tv, computer, cell phones, etc. in the Sound and become Amish. And I'm only joking about the latter part of that sentence.

I will definitely check it out.

Thanks for the recommendation.
