Thursday Thirteen

Thirteen completely non-related things about Toni that won't awe you or amaze you

I was married here. This is not a wedding shot, but my dear parents are in the fifth row, left side, sitting by the aisle (mom's hair looks white in photo).

Carl and I had this beach all to ourselves for 3 hours. It's on the island of St. John. Our cruise ship dropped us off just after 7am and we didn't have to share this incredible beauty until 10:30am. Priceless.

Isn't it beautiful? The town hall in the country town we lived in before moving to IN.

One of my favorite restaurants back home. It overlooks Lake Erie and the Cleveland city skyline. It's been revamped and (IMHO) has lost much of its former charm, but I will always remember it as it was.

Please don't hate me because I drove a 'Vette. We can't all be so blessed. That car took me from OH to CA, then to PA, then back to OH before taking hubs to NC and back. She ran forever on a dollar of gas and a little sweet talk (same color as this one too). And yes, I loved the Audio Adrenaline song My Chevette.

This was a very common sight out my front bow window in Ohio (both the buggy and the barren cornfield across the road). How I miss it (though it deeply troubles me that Amish children do not have the same level of protection from abuse and neglect that children in the greater society do).

I competed in gymnastics as a child.
Thus, once a fan...

...always a fan (and besides, she's married to former U.S. Olympian Bart Connor so she scores points with me there as well.)

I'll be seeing it ("Six Sisters") up close and personal in a few weeks (again, that is; I used to live there).

Because Indiana has such gems.

Gone fishing! (All summer long, which really drives home the importance of having a pond in our back yard)

My little monster man.

Some really can blame it on rocks in their head. The otolith (ear bone) of a Sheephead fish (a.k.a. Freshwater Drum). Notice the upside down "L" shape on the left half. That's why it's called a "lucky" stone (though if you had a "stone" dug out of your head, how lucky would you feel?) I thought this was quite the gem as a child.

You seriously have a neat life! I don't think I could come up with that many interesting pictures of my life! But, also a wonderful blog idea! I may have to tuck that away for next week.

Beautiful pictures. You've lived in some gorgeous places and have a beautiful family!
Now what kind of food do they serve in that restaurant? Neat building!

LOL! They serve very expensive food (that's why we hardly ever went). I'm talking an $80 tab for two and we don't drink alcholic beverages. Yep, this was the birthday or anniversary treat only.
Blessings,
~Toni~

In response to your comment...

No, we did not move. Michael's parents are actually where he grew up in Pensacola, FL. He got stationed here in TX while he was in the AF. This is my home town so we stayed. Luckily my parents are a mile down the road.

Toni, thanks for your prayers for Ashley! You are one of my best blogging friends. Your comment brought so much peace yesterday. I appreciate you.

Beautiful pictures. The last one, a little disturbing. Baby too cute for words.

I loved seeing all these pictures! I live not far from where you are talking about!

I also once drove a Chevette. Mine had no muffler, which is always nice. I couldn't go through a McDonald's drive-thru because they couldn't hear me over the noise!!! :)

Aw, Toni, you keep trumpin' me! What cha gotta do that 4???? I loved this TT, although I got slightly confused when you had "my little man" printed beside Olivia's picture. Were you talking about the fish? Oh, and you had to go ahead and make your sister jealous of St. John, din ya?

I just wanted to stop by and thank you for your encouraging words, and prayers. Thank you also for the resource you recommended, I will stop by and check that out!

I'm late to your TT, but enjoyed it nonetheless. I'm a Nadia fan, too! Always. Those Six Sisters are gorgeous, by the way.

Hi Toni,
Your trip sounds great!I hope you can see it all. By the second or third day, our kids were asking if we could try doing nothing for awhile. : )
I can see why people would sneak with dolls! I started examining peoples 'passangers'. ha ha
