Scrappiness!

It's a double posting kind of day. What can I say? ;)

I don't have a scrapbook room. However, I did manage to come up with a scrapping space. Cabinet purchased used for $50.00 Dh installed an undercabinet light ($6 from Lowes). He also found a new-in-box counter stool (Target brand) at Goodwill for $12.50 (see second photo). And we found an awesome black shelf at GW for $10.00 (I'll eventually store embellishments in pretty containers on it.) Total project cost? $78.50. Not bad, eh?

And a sample of my work. I handpainted the white background paper. I also handpainted the chipboard "O" in Olivia, added a handbeaded staple over the tiny pink bow. I then handpainted the rest of the letters directly on the paper. The scroll on the photo is hand doodled and handcut by moi (don't like the circle thingies though, and will probably rip them off and replace with a handmade heart or something like that).

The journaling comes from the Mark Harris song, Find Your Wings.

I pray that God would fill your heart with dreams
And that faith gives you the courage to dare to do great things.
I'm here for you, whatever this life brings
So let my love give you roots and help you find your wings.
~Mark Harris
Momma's heart will always sing this song for you.

Don't ya love organizing?! I wish I was! I have good intentions... and little follow-thru. Ah, maybe someday. That page of Olivia was sooo cute! I'm looking forward to the next scrap night so I can get ideas from all you more experienced scrappers!

Beautiful scrapbook page - and a really great picture of Olivia. Has so much energy in it. I clicked on the graphic so I could read the lyrics in your own handwriting. I love handwriting!

Your scrapbooking cabinet is awesome. You'd be surprised how many writers only have a writing corner like your scrapbooking center. But that's all you need, really.

You've comforted me.:-) We just spent the last 4 days rearranging our house and I lost the tiny scrapbook area I did have. Now I'm down to a scrapbook space too.
I love the cabinet you found! Doesn't it feel good to get organized? :-)

I love that song. It almost always brings tears to my eyes.

If I send you all the pictures of my kids would you make a scrapbook for me? I'm soooo not crafty like that!
